Inside the little pouch provided, you can find a dust cover lid, a breast pump and an English-language manual with crystal-clear illustrations. Not only can this be an excellent gift for yourself, but also a thoughtful present for baby showers and expecting moms.

What have parents said about this breast pump?

It is exceptionally comfortable to use, minimizing pains caused by improper pumping techniques or some electrical breast pumps. Due to it being almost silent, moms can use it during working hours, late at night or early in the morning –without running the risk of waking up their baby or husband.

Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump

With a long-standing history of over 50 years, the small and family-owned Medela brand has been producing top quality breast pumps which are now renowned as a global market leader.

The Harmony Manual Breast Pump become the Winner of the Best Manual Breast Pump in 2008 and Mother & Baby Award Winners 2016, which is great because it’s a reflection of the quality and commitment the brand offers its customers.

Another great feature of this breast pump is the fact that it contains some little extras which are included in the box –valve, handle, connector, nipple shield, membrane, and others.

Quiet and comfortable, the product is an excellent option if you are looking for a discrete breast pump which you can use any time of the day. Many appreciate this feature since it’s convenient for working moms who can discretely use while at work or in a restaurant.

Key Features

  • Ergonomic swivel handle for comfortable hand pumping
  • Discrete design
  • Compatible with breast shields

Pros

✓Easy to wash
✓Lightweight design for increased portability
✓Quiet

Cons

✕Requires using two hands
✕Rubber parts break easily

What have parents said about this breast pump?

Easy to assemble, the Medela Harmony Manual Breast Pump comes equipped with a comprehensive manual which features illustrations, making the entire process of putting it together seamlessly uncomplicated –even as a first time user.

Haakaa Silicone Breastfeeding Manual Breast Pump

This product uses a one-piece pump design, which is great because you can quickly clean it without needing to fiddle around with extra pump parts which could get in the way. This feature is incredibly useful for new or working moms.

Considering the amount of time you need to put into taking care of your newborn (i.e., changing nappies, night sleeping, naptime, feedings), it’s refreshing to find a product which is easy to use and maintain. No more bulk cleaning at the end of the day, no valve and no tubes to wash and dry.

Another feature which helps create the ease of use is the manual aspect of the pump. In comparison to electric products, there is no need to be knowledgeable about suction levels or other minor details for draining your breasts. In fact, you don’t even need to press a button or continuously hand squeeze –it’s quite straightforward and simple!

Designed to suit the ever-changing needs of any new mom, the Haakaa Manual Breast Pump is compact, allowing you to take with you anywhere you go. Simply put it in your bag or inside a tiny travel suitcase, and you’ll be able to see for yourself. It’s in fact that small that it doesn’t exceed the height of an iPhone!

Key Features

  • One-piece pump
  • Designed using flexible and smooth materials
  • Comes with a flower-like “lid”.

Pros

✓Easy to clean
✓Ergonomic manual breast pump
✓Compact and convenient design

Cons

✕Easy to tumble down
✕Inaccurate and confusing ounce marking
✕Narrow base makes it easy to spill

What have parents said about this breast pump?

It is made out of soft silicone materials which make it ergonomic and comfortable to hold, even for extended periods of time. Lightweight and equipped with a decent suction, this is great for moms looking for a quiet yet efficient pump option.

Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump

This breast pump has a vast array of great features, which is excellent considering its budget-friendly price. First and foremost, the design uses BPA-free plastic, which parents can appreciate in light of giving you peace of mind about what you’re using on your body.

An added bonus is the fact that the Philips Avent Manual Comfort Breast Pump is quiet, allowing you to use it in the middle of the night as your newborn is already sleeping, or even when you’re in an plane.

In some cases, products use noisy motors which can make new moms feel embarrassed or reluctant to pump. Take, for example, the squeaky sounds of manual pumps. Because the product shies away from these problems, it can make you feel more comfortable during this otherwise natural process.

Equipped with an ergonomic handle, the design of the product is made not to strain your hands while holding it, and despite being a manual item, it is efficient in pumping out an adequate amount of milk for future feedings.

Key Features

  • Quiet design which comes with no excess parts
  • Equipped with a massage cushion for added comfort
  • Short neck is near the breast for ease-of-use

Pros

✓Lightweight design
✓Ideal for travel
✓Strong milk expression for a manual pump

Cons

✕Harder to assemble than other products
✕Milk might drip down
✕Requires the Avent bottles

What have parents said about this breast pump?

It is an excellent pump with excellent suction, but there are two points which moms have made. The first one is that you will need Avent bottles to fit the wide-mouthed pump -the good news is that they are relatively affordable.

The main complaint is that in some cases, milk can drop down, meaning that you need to position yourself in an upright stand for the entire time in order to avoid that from happening.

Spectra S1 Plus Electric Breast Milk Pump

If you are after a high quality and versatile breast pump. The Spectra S1 Plus should be one to be considered as it offers the option to either single or double pump at any time.

Portable and compact in size, it is powered by an in-built battery that offers 3 hours of battery life, enough to pump a few times a day. You can either use it plugged into a wall socket or when it is fully charged.

As per the weight, it comes at 3.3 Lbs or 1.4kg and it even fits a baby bottle compartment inside the body of the Spectra breast pump.

It showcases a ‘glow in the dark’ display with an auto-timer, to help keep track of your sessions and it has a quiet, yet powerful motor, which tends to be unusual in hospital-grade pumps.

Moms can appreciate this feature considering that they can wake up early in the morning, before their husbands or babies, and pump for half an hour, or even while working from home.

Offering powerful suction, it comes with an in-built vibration system meant to maximise your comfort. Of course, this is intended as a hospital-grade pump, and so there is little surprise that although the maximum suction is used, moms don’t typically report any discomfort or heaviness in their breasts.

Key Features

  • Powerful suction with vibration
  • Hospital-grade pump
  • Back-flow protectors (i.e., your milk will never come in contact with the pump motor)

Pros

✓3 Hour battery life for on-the-go
✓LED display and timer
✓Dual or single pumping option

Cons

✕Bulky design
✕Flimsy bottles (you can, however, use other bottles such as Avent or Medela)

What have parents said about this breast pump?

It is useful for building up and maintaining a constant milk supply, as the vibration system is meant to replicate the natural way in which a baby is feeding. Moreover, the suction is powerful enough to drain the breasts so that the body can replenish them afterwards.

Spectra Baby USA S2 Double/Single Breast Pump

If you have ever looked for a breast pump which is entirely customizable, the Spectra Baby USA S2 might just be the product for you. The ability to change its options is an incredibly appealing feature to any mom, regardless of milk supply or common preferences.

Even proud mothers of twins can use it to either pump single or double, without any breast tenderness or pain.

Another great feature is the fact that the suction is comfortable and easy-to-use, equipped with a pump which gently complements the in-built massage system which adequately induces letdown.

Because of the product’s versatility, you can use breast shields from other products (i.e., Medela or Avent), depending on your own unique preferences. Overall, this product can be considered excellent for moms who have been looking for a quiet pump which features comfort and usability.

Although slightly bulky because it is a hospital-grade pump, the product is aesthetically pleasing and quite lightweight despite its size.

Key Features

  • Built-in timer and nightlight to keep track of pumping
  • Customized features, including suction speed and vacuum control
  • Closed design for increased hygiene

Pros

✓Unbelievably quiet for a hospital grade pump
✓Massage feature is excellent and won’t induce letdown
✓Excellent value for money

Cons

✕No batteries or car charger feature
✕Bulky design
✕Doesn’t come with a carrying case

What have parents said about this breast pump?

It is excellent for mothers who struggle with a low milk flow, as the suction is designed to help drain the breasts entirely, and at any time of the day.

The main downside that parents speak of is the quality of the bottles or the slightly uncomfortable nipple shields. Fortunately, it is compatible with many brands, including Medela and Dr. Brown standard neck bottles.

Most moms interested in the Spectra brand of breast pumps want to see Spectra S1 vs S2 face-to-face and to learn more about both products before making a decision.

Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with On the Go Tote

Equipped with an open system pump, the Advanced Medela is easy to clean and maintain. You should note that it is essential to clean the tubes properly to deter any mould from occurring.

When talking about the suction, the breast pump is both powerful yet gentle, allowing for an adequate amount of milk to flow from your beasts.

Key Features

  • Two-phase technology for an increase in milk flow
  • Adjustable vacuum and speed settings
  • Bag with complete set of accessories

Pros

✓Compatible with standard sized bottles
✓Double electric capability
✓Easy to replace parts, widely available

Cons

✕Milk might leak out
✕Clean thoroughly for best performance

What have parents said about this breast pump?

It is extremely easy to use. However, the downside is that milk can leak out occasionally. Although most moms don’t struggle with this part, the overall consensus is that this is a powerful advanced double breast pump –highly recommended by industry experts.

Conclusion

To sum up, we’ve presented the best breast pumps reviews, including seven products which you can choose from. We hope this product roundup will help you along the trial and error journey of motherhood.

Although all of these items have their merits, the Spectra Baby S2 Double/Single Breast Pump appears as superior due to its wide range of attractive features -built-in timer and nightlight to keep track of pumping, fully customizable options (i.e. suction speed and vacuum control), and massage function.

Please note that especially for first-time mothers who have never used a pump before it’s essential to consult with a lactation consultant before purchasing one of these products. Medical professionals can help you decide on a breast pump which best suits your unique needs and circumstances.

Reviews of the Best Jogging Strollers

THULE Urban Glide 2 All Terrain Stroller

This is a top of the range stroller among the best running prams in the market.

The Urban Glide is a stroller that can be used from when your baby is born. Parents have the options of buying the Thule urban glide bassinet (sold separately) to carry their newborn.

It is not recommended that you run with the bassinet, as newborn babies don’t have the enough strength in their neck and back mussels to support their head steadily. It is nice, however, to know you can use your jogging stroller as a conventional stroller at first, and jog with your baby later, at 6 to 8 months of age.

The Thule running stroller is easy to navigate, thanks to its ergonomic & adjustable handle bar, smooth front swivel wheel and the 2 x 16” rear wheels. It has an integrated hand break that is activated by twisting motion for better speed control down-hill.

Thanks to the reflective rims on the 3 wheels, that provide a reflective edge it is easy to be spotted during evening runs. This is a great added feature, as some parents go running with blow in the dark t-shirts to be seen.

Baby will ride super comfy thanks to the stroller smooth suspension system. The Thule reclining seat is perfectly padded and features a 5-point harness and proper ventilation through the peek-a-boo window.

The stroller also features a multi-position canopy to protect baby from UV rays and side ventilation for hot days.

Finally, the Thule jogging stroller is light-weight at 25.3 Lbs (11.4 kg). Moreover, it is the lightest stroller in our list and can carry kids of up to 75 Lbs (34 kg).

Thule Urban glide accessories include: Thule urban glide rain cover, Thule urban glide cup holder, Thule urban glide snack tray, Thule car seat adapter to make your own travel system.

It comes with a large underneath basket with zip-top cover, which is handy to protect your items from falling while running. It also has 2 mesh pockets in the seat area for baby snacks and toys.

Key Features

  • Slim aerodynamic shape
  • Easy to maneuver
  • Twist activated hand break

Pros

✓Storage basket with zipper
✓Mesh pockets for baby items
✓Comfy seat and ventilation

Cons

✕Extra long model
✕Wide back wheels
✕No upright seating position

Thule Urban Glide Reviews

At 4.3 stars on Amazon.com, most customers are happy with this running buggy, which looks premium, slim and aerodynamic.

The most appreciated features are the light weight, the ease of maneuverability and the modern design, ideal for sporty parents.

There have been some comments, however, about this stroller being difficult to navigate in tight spaces because of its length. Even though it turns very smoothly, you may need to be extra careful if you take it to small shops with narrow ails.

To add to the point above, the wheels may feel like they sit too wide in the stroller. Hence, even though it is a slim design it can be hard to navigate in narrow spaces.

Parents have recommended buying the snack tray or bumper bar so that baby can grab on during runs. They also said it may be hard to clean as there is no easy way to remove the fabric from the seat to wash it.

Overall, customers are happy with the strollers. Although, it has been commented as well that it could come with more accessories considering the price!

BOB Revolution FLEX 3.0

The BOB Revolution Flex jogging stroller features a padded handle bar that can be adjusted to 9 different positions to suit the height of any parent.

The front wheel can be locked for added stability or swivel to maneuver in tight spaces. Thanks to its mountain-bike-stile suspension system and air-filled tires, this baby jogger provides a super smooth ride for baby in all kind or terrains.

Baby will ride safely and comfortably thanks to the ultra-padded seat and the 5-point harness that allows easy adjustments for different heights and multiple reclining positions. Besides the Bob Revolution Flex single stroller has a weight capacity of 75 Lbs (34 kg) and a spacious under seat storage.

The featured Lunar Black variant of the Bob Revolution stroller features reflective fabric, which are ideal to be noticed by cars and bicycles during low light runs during the morning or evening.

This stroller is compatible with the Britax B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat, for a jogger stroller car seat combo. Be mindful you will need to purchase the adapter if you wish to use this stroller as a travel system.

Bob is also compatible with other major brands of infant car seats, and there are bob revolution flex car seat adapters (Chicco, Peg Perego and Graco) for you to use the baby seat you to create your own Bob Revolution Flex Travel System.

Once you finish using this stroller, you can easily fold it thanks to its 2-step fold design. You can easily remove the 2-rear wheels, in case you own a car with a small trunk.

In terms of weight, the Bob Revolution 3.0 is heavier than the Joovy stroller at 28.5 Lbs, but not as much as the Gracco Fastaction at 35 Lbs.

Parents who have compared the Bob Revolution Flex vs. Baby Trend prefer Bob, due to its perceived comfort and high quality components.

Key Features

  • Compatible with BOB B-Safe 35 Infant car seat by Britax
  • 9 position handle
  • Adjustable suspension

Pros

✓State of the art suspension
✓Easy to use break
✓Adjustable handle bar

Cons

✕More expensive than other options
✕Does not have a hand break
✕Fabric cannot be removed for washing

Bob Stroller Reviews by parents on Amazon.com

Overall, it is really easy to exercise with this stroller as it provides an “easy-push” and “easy-ride” feeling.

Bob Flex Revolution has recently been updated to include a straight back, this is great for older children as it lets them ride straight, with multiple reclining options.

The prior model featured a curved back and larger storage available under the seat. Nonetheless, the Bob Revolution Flex reviews on the current model are outstanding at 4.6 stars out of 5.

Some customers have said that it may be hard to clean, as not all fabrics can be detached from the stroller. Some customers have also had a flat tire sooner than expected!

This is one of the best jogging strollers for infants and toddlers in market, thanks to its high quality and light weight.

BOB REVOLUTION PRO Jogging Stroller

Bob Revolution Pro vs Flex

Following the review of Bob Flex, the Revolution Pro is a more advanced and deluxe version of a jogging stroller.

To begin with, it features a bicycle-style rear drum hand break to help you slow down during fast runs and achieve greater control whilst running downhill, which the Bob Flex was missing.

Bob Pro features an ultra-padded seat with ventilation which can be hand-adjusted to a full-upright or full-flat position, for extra comfort.

The storage basket is extra-large. You get 15% more storage space for all your baby needs, grocery shopping and your own bag. However, it doesn’t have a zipper like the Thule stroller.

The canopy is also very large and gives your child great coverage from sun and wind.

In terms of weight, The Pro is slightly heavier than the Bob Flex at 30.5 Lbs vs Flex at 28.5 Lbs.

The Bob Revolution Stroller also has many similarities with the Flex

It features a front swivel wheel that can be locked in place to jog with more stability or swivel for better manoeuvrability in tight spaces, and a state-of-the-art suspension system same as the Bob revolution Flex.

You can adjust the padded handlebar to 9 different positions and fold it in 2 steps.

It can carry children of up to 75 Lbs (34 kg). In terms of size, they are quite similar.

You can make your own travel system stroller with the Bob stroller car seat and the adapter (sold separately). Note that you can use the same bob stroller car seat adapter for Bob or Flex versions of the jogging strollers.

Bob has launched adapters for other baby car seats. Hence, if you already own a Chicco, Graco, Britax baby car seat you would only need to get the adapter to make your Bob Pro Stroller a travel system.

Key Features

  • Hand break
  • Large storage basket
  • Full reclining & seat upright positions

Pros

✓Suitable for short and tall parents
✓Extra large canopy
✓Compatible with baby car seats by using adapter

Cons

✕Slightly heavier than Bob Flex
✕More expensive than Bob Flex

Bob Stroller Reviews

Bob Revolution Flex 2016 is a 4.5 out of 5-star stroller and it is really one of the best prams you can get for running with your baby.

Customers have mostly complained about the fact that the Bob Revolution Pro 2016 does not include many accessories for the price.

Some customers have complained about the rear wheels and axle alignment. These comments are from when the model was just released in 2016. Since then it seems that any problems that Bob may have had, were fixed.

Overall there are mostly happy customers with this stroller among Bob Revolution stroller reviews. The ease of maneuverability while pushing this stroller is a highlight among parents.

Graco Fastaction Fold Jogger Click Connect Stroller

This stroller is compatible with all Graco Click Connect travel systems, which is great if you are looking for a jogging stroller with car seat.

It folds in one-second with one-hand and can stand while folded, which is very convenient feature when you have your hands busy holding your baby or some other gear.

The Graco Fastaction Fold jogger front swivel wheel is lockable to provide an easy transition from walking to jogging. Baby will travel comfortably with this multi position reclining seat and a removable cup tray that pivots for baby to go in and out of the stroller.

It comes with an extra-large extendable canopy and peek-a-boo window for convenience.

The Graco Fastaction Fold is a great option for parents looking for a sturdy stroller. It weights 35Lbs, so it is not ideal for parents looking for a lightweight running stroller. However, this attribute enhances the sense of durability and stability in the stroller. Also, a convertible 5 to 3 point harness is provided for travel safely while running with baby stroller.

The size of this stroller is another consideration. At 40 x 24 x 42 inches is not small to carry. Make sure your car can fit this stroller, otherwise you will be disappointed. If you love this stroller but you own a small car, you may need to remove its wheels to make it fit properly.

Key Features

  • Compatible with all Click Connect Travel Systems
  • One hand, one second fold
  • Extra large, extendable canopy

Pros

✓Sturdy and durable
✓Good size storage compartments
✓Ideal for hiking unpaved tracks

Cons

✕Heavy stroller
✕May need to remove wheels to fit in small car
✕Does not feature hand break

Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller

If you are after a lightweight jogging stroller, don’t go pass this one. The Joovy Zoom 360 jogging stroller is the second lightest jogging stroller of our top seller selection at 25.7 Lbs (11.6 kg), as it is made of 6061 aircraft aluminium, which is also a very strong material.

The Joovy jogging stroller features an extra wide, high seat, which is great for baby to see the world. The seat can recline multiple positions, which is ideal for extra comfort.

What is probably most interesting about the Joovy 360 jogging stroller,  is that it has recently been updated. The model now includes a rear axle which can help you ride straight in uneven terrains.

The Joovy Zoom Ultralight is ideal for tall parents, as it has a taller handle bar than BOB’s (which is the next stroller in our reviews). It also features a larger sun canopy, so you don’t have to worry about baby getting too much sun.

The Joovy Ultralight jogging stroller is the lightest running stroller in our product selection and it comes with a front swivel wheel that has the option to be locked in place.

It is worth reminding our readers that this is still a jogging strollers, and it may be heavier than a conventional stroller. In fact, it can feel a bit too big to maneuver in tight places, despite its front swivel wheel.

An additional feature of the Joovy baby stroller worth mentioning is that it does not come with a hand break. For some parents this is not an issue. However, you should keep this in mind if you ride in an area that has steep roads.

Finally, although the Joovy Ultralight handle bar is not adjustable, it is placed at an average height of approx. 46 inches.

Key Features

  • Large canopy

Baby comfort is of utmost importance while jogging, as baby needs to stay sitting on the baby jogger sometimes for hours. Joovy 360 is a comfortable stroller, thanks to its wide seat, cushioning and sun canopy.

Some Jovvy zoom 360 reviews read that even though the stroller is light compared to others, it is larger than expected and it is hard to maneuver in tight places.

Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller

In terms of weight, it is 8 pounds lighter than the Gracco Fastaction Fold Jogger reviewed above, as it is made of a lightweight steel frame.

  • One hand fold

✓Light to push
✓Good size under seat storage
✓Canopy position can be adjusted to shade baby from sun

The Baby Trend Expedition Stroller has been reviewed by over 1,300 moms on Amazon.com with an outstanding 4.3 star rating.

Overall, moms who chose to buy the Baby Trend Jogging Stroller say that it is easy to assemble once you receive it, light weight and can fit in the back of a small car.

This is a great stroller for parents looking for an all-terrain option, even for non runners. It is easy to fold by locking the wheels and putting the seat down.

It is a great value for money option for moms looking for a jogging stroller under $100.

Baby Trend Xcel Jogger Stroller

Same as the Expedition Jogger, the Xcel model comes with a front swivel wheel that can be locked for jogging.

The tyres are different from the last model reviewed, making it look less like a bicycle. Nonetheless, the tyres will need to be inflated from time to time.

The ergonomic handle does not come with a parent tray. It comes with a drink bottle holder.

The child tray, as in the Expedition stroller comes with 2 snack cups.

You can also make it a jogging stroller travel system by adding in any Baby Trend Travel System capsule. For example, the Baby Trend Infant Car Seat.

It is the same size as the Expedition model, but 2 lbs heavier – probably due to its wheels.

Similarities with the Expedition Jogger are: the 5 point harness, multi-position reclining seat, foot rest, large storage basket and adjustable canopy.

Many parents have loved that it is easy to put together, light to push and transport. It is a great solution for families looking for cheap jogging stroller, offering good storage space for mom and dad.

There are few points that require improvement, according to some, though. The straps are too thin, so it seems that baby will slide down any time.

Even though some serious runners have said it is great some others have said that the front wheel shakes continuously and does not provide a sense of stability.

Overall this stroller has 4.4 stars out of 5, and it has been rated by 130+ people.

We can probably conclude that it is a great jogging stroller, with all-terrain wheels for the price you pay.

Baby Trend Xcel jogging stroller reviews

The Baby Trend Xcel jogging stroller is an Amazon favorite with 4.4 stars. Baby can ride comfortably in this stroller and many moms have said that it is easy to push.

It is easy to assemble the first time round and to keep your baby contained in bumpy terrain. It is light and can be easily taken anywhere. The Baby Trend Xcel is easy to fold and it is not bulky.

There have been some negative comments about the storage underneath not being too spacious. Some parents have complained about the front wheel being wobbly.

Overall, parents have written very positive reviews. This stroller is a highly recommended option for parents that either run regularly or need a stroller to walk on uneven terrain.

Benefits of buying a jogging stroller

After 9 months of pregnancy and a few months into motherhood, exercising with your baby is a great way of bonding. A little bit of exercise every day can not only help you with your fitness, but it is also good for your health and well being.

Be mindful that while your baby is little, he/she won’t have neck strength totally developed. Some stroller manufacturers do not recommend jogging with your baby before 8 months of age. However, you may also want to talk to your paediatrician for advice.

A jogging stroller has the benefit of providing a mean of transport for your baby, and as an added plus, it will enable you to exercise.

Why not jog with a conventional stroller?

Most conventional strollers do not have mountain-bike-like suspension technology and air-filled tires to run safely with your baby.

A good jogging stroller is designed to provide stability and overall a smooth ride for the rider. Most of all running strollers are designed to endure long runs, uneven terrains, bumps and shocks.

Jogging vs Conventional Strollers

3 wheel vs 4 wheel stroller

Most baby joggers are 3 wheel strollers; featuring 1 front wheel, which can either swivel and/ or fixed.

All jogging strollers in our article come with a front wheel that swivels and include an optional lock. This is great to give you some versatility in the use of your stroller.

Bob Revolution Flex 2016 Swivel wheel

Most jogging strollers with a swivel front wheel have the option to lock it in place to give the stroller better stability in uneven terrain. By fixing the front wheel, you will be ablet to jog on uneven surface and your stroller will keep the same direction, no matter what obstacles are ahead.

When you are at the shopping center or city, unlock the front wheel to easily maneuver in narrow spaces. Without a swivel wheel, you would have to lift the front wheel to turn the stroller.

Note that if you decide to go for a run with unlocked front wheel, you may need to keep a stronger grip on the stroller to prevent it from changing directions in uneven soil.

All Terrain Stroller Wheel Size

The stroller wheel size in a baby jogger is much larger than in traditional strollers.

A jogging stroller wheel size can vary from one brand to another. Normally the back wheels are larger (at 16+ inches) than the front one (at 12+ inches).

A wider wheel will give the stroller and the passenger in it more stability. The drawback about the large wheels is that they take space.

Make sure you check out the measurements of the stroller you like before you make a purchase decision and that it fits in your car!

Pram Tires

Most jogging strollers come with pneumatic tires, which means they need to be re-filled with air from time to time.

A stroller with air tires will ride smoothly and will stand bumpy roads or uneven terrain, same as a bicycle.

Conventional strollers normally feature hard plastic wheels which can get damaged over time, especially if used in uneven soil.

Having a stroller with air tires means that the stroller is designed to be out an about for long periods of time.

BOB Revolution Flex wheel and air pump

Stroller with Suspension

Running prams are designed to support uneven surfaces in different terrains.

The stroller needs to be properly cushioned and have the security 5-point harness to keep baby sitting safely while you run.

On the other hand, hiking strollers are engineered with the a suspension system that absorbs the shocks, to help your baby enjoy a smooth ride.

How to choose the best all terrain stroller?

We’ve put together for you some criteria to help you choose the best running pram for you.

Are you already a runner or just starting up?

The best jogging strollers in this feature are Amazon favorites. Hence, it is important to look at the differences, as well as the price before making a decision.

If you are on a budget, the Baby Trend Expedition or Baby Trend Xcel Jogger Strollers may be a suitable option. These strollers are not top of the range, but they can be a good alternative if you are just starting off.

Retail price rounds the $80-$110.

Both strollers are great quality and value-for-money, according to Amazon parents. They also have high star ratings.

Check Out the Differences – Brand vs Brand

Baby Trend Xcel vs  Expedition

Baby Trend Xcel Jogging Stroller

  • It is heavier than the Expedition by 2 Lbs (approx. 1 kg)
  • Features all-terrain air-filled composite wheels
  • It includes 1 cup holder for the parents

Baby Trend Expedition vs Xcel

  • Includes a parent tray with 2 cup holders and a covered compartment
  • It features large bicycle wheels

If you are after a more sturdy stroller, the Graco Fastaction may be the one for you. Sturdy strollers can provide a sense of stability while running, which for some parents is preferred over a light stroller that may feel more shaky.

The Graco Fastaction jogging stroller retails at approx. $140, so it is slightly more expensive than the Baby Trend options.

For runners…

If you are already a runner, you may wish to invest a bit more and get a top jogging stroller such as the BOB Revolution FLEX 2016.

At 4.6 stars, BOB has the best star rating in our list and it is a stroller for serious runners looking to resume activity.

Price wise, the Bob Revolution Flex retails for approx. $500 and it is the most expensive of our list. However, it also top of the range, which makes it ideal for parents that are serious about running.

Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight Jogging Stroller on the road

Joovy jogging stroller vs bob

If you are still after a great running stroller, but Bob is out of range, you may also wish to consider the Joovy Zoom Ultralight, which retails at approx. $190-$220. In terms of quality and features, this is our second favorite jogging stroller.

Apart from the price point, Joovy has a taller handlebar and a larger sunshade than Bob’s, which is most of the time a desirable feature.

Bob, on the other hand has a higher quality engineering work to prevent shocks and enables a smoother ride than Joovy. Baby seems to be better contained in this stroller.

Bob also has a wider variety of accessories to go on the stroller. For example a snack tray and a wind shield.

Besides these little differences, they are both good quality jogging strollers with great advantages:

  • Safety for baby
  • They take up approx the same amount of room when folded
  • Both have appropriate shading to protect baby from the sun
  • They are tall strollers, so baby has good views of the world
  • Good amount of storage under the seat
  • Easy fold and easy ride

Thule Urban Glide vs Bob

It is difficult to compare the Thule stroller vs bob because these are 2 excellent strollers.

Nevertheless, there are some key differences that stand out. For example, the Thule model features a hand break, which is an extremely useful feature for advanced runners.

Thule Glide 2 is lighter in weight at 25.3 Lbs (11.4 kg) than the Bob Revolution Flex 3.0 at 28.5 Lbs (12.9 kg) by not much. However, when you start adding the baby’s weight, nappy bag and other items, 1 Lbs can make a big difference.

The sit upright position in the Urban Glide is slightly reclined, which means that there is no “sit upright position”. Whereas the Bob Revolution has a sit up straight position, which is great when you want to use your jogging stroller for everyday errands and for example, feed your child while he/she is sitting in it.

Watch out for the extra weight…

When choosing the best jogging stroller, you may also need to think about the weight of the product you are buying.

As a general rule, jogging strollers are heavier than umbrella strollers. This is so because jogging strollers are stronger, designed to endure long runs on uneven terrain, bumps and shocks.

Nonetheless, you can find strollers in the lighter-weight of the spectrum. The Joovy Zoom 360 Ultralight weighs 25.7 Lbs, Baby Trend Expedition Stroller weighs 27 Lbs and the BOB Revolution FLEX 2016 weighs 28.5 Lbs. These can be considered small jogging strollers.

If having a light weight jogging stroller is a high priority for you, you may wish to consider the Joovy Zoom 360 at 35 Lbs, instead of the Graco Fastaction, which is nearly 10 Lbs heavier.

Will it fit in your car and or home?!

Jogging strollers tend to be larger than an umbrella or conventional stroller.

Fortunately, there is the option of removing the wheels, should the stroller not fit in your car.

When can I start running with my baby?

Talk to your pediatrician or physician before you either resume or start your running routine with your baby. Consider that for approximately the first 6 months of life, babies cannot hold their neck, head or sit by themselves, so going out for a run may not be recommended for their unsteady little bodies.

Once your baby is between 9 and 12 months old, he will be able to hold up his body more firmly. You can still take baby out for walks in the bush, beach or other terrains if you own a jogging stroller.

Other necessary features in jogging strollers

Stroller Breaks

All strollers have breaks, that’s a fact. Some jogging strollers feature a hand break as well as a foot break. The later normally cannot be used when the stroller is in motion.

A hand break can be help you slow down if you are running down hill. To slow down a jogging stroller that does not feature a hand break you would need to use your body weight to slow down on speed.

Of our feature strollers only the Thule Urban Glide 2 and the Bob Revolution Pro have a hand break.

Thule’s twist hand break is different from Bob’s bicycle-style break on the photo above.

A 5-Point Harness stroller

It is quite standard for strollers to have a 5-point harness.

A 5 point harness buckle guard will keep your child safe should there be any sudden movement or if your stroller falls sideways. This event is highly unusual to happen, but of course your child should be safely supported by the harness to prevent any injuries.

This is a feature you should always look for and it is present in all of the products reviewed.

Stroller Sun Shade Canopy

Best Jogging Strollers Graco Fastaction Fold Jogger Click Connect Stroller in actionHaving a stroller with a big canopy  is the best way to protect your child from the sun.

You should always try to apply sunscreen on your skin and your baby before going out for a run.

Always apply sunscreen every 2 to 3 hours or as recommended by the brand you normally use. When you run, the sweat can wash out sunscreen leaving you unprotected.

As an additional feature, having a peek-a-boo window is useful when you are running so you don’t have to stop to check how your baby is travelling.

Baby stroller seat

Make sure the seat is cushioned and comfortable to support your baby in a bumpy road. You can use a stroller insert, or a universal pram liner to make the seat even more cushioned for your child.

Check also the reclining levels to make sure your baby will be comfortable napping while you run.

Safety Tether

This is the safety strap that connects the stroller with your wrist.

It is important to use it at all times, especially whilst running to ensure the safety of your little passenger.

Stroller with Large Storage Basket

No matter how large the under-seat storage basket is, try not to carry too much weight while you are running.

Only take what is necessary to help the stroller remain stable at all times.

Baby stroller easy to fold

‘Do jogging strollers fold up?’ Of course they do!!

Having a fold-able baby stroller is important, as you may need to carry it in the back of your car. Also bear in mind that running strollers are bulkier than conventional strollers, so they will take more space even if you remove the wheels (most strollers offer this option).

Jogging Stroller Cup holder

Are you taking your water bottle for a run?

In the interest of safety, if you are jogging in a bumpy road and the cup holder is not too shallow, avoid using it as the drink could fall on your baby’s head.

Small objects like phones or keys can also bounce and fall easily from a cup holder.

For the times when you are not running, a pram cup holder is a really handy feature that most moms prefer to have in their jogging stroller.

How to clean pram fabric?

Keeping your stroller fabric and wheels clean is important for continuous great performance.

Cleaning the wheels regularly if you stroll on the beach is important as sand and salt can alter their mechanism. Check out our guide on how to clean and maintain your jogging stroller.

Reviews of the Best Baby Travel Systems

1. Baby Trend EZ Ride 5 Travel System

This stroller and car seat combo comes with Flex-Loc Technology, which is common in modern travel systems and an equivalent of Graco’s Click Connect.

The Latch system allows you to install the car seat and keep the base in the car, thus eliminating the need to install the travel system with every trip. What’s even better is that the car seat easily clicked into the stroller when detached from the base.

This travel system has a baby buggy that offers multiple reclining positions. Your little one can lay back for a nap or sit up to explore the world around him. The reclining options also make it easier to keep the sun out of your baby’s eyes.

The stroller in the Baby Trend EZ Ride 5 comes with a one-fold mechanism that allows for quick storage. This feature takes some time getting used to and considering the stroller weighs 33 pounds, coordination is required when folding it up.

As many other strollers, this one has a 5 point harness to ensure your baby doesn’t wiggle his way out. It comes with other essential features that benefit the parent pushing the stroller. Such include a height adjustable handle, two cup holders as well as a peek a boo window in the canopy. There is also a snack tray and two cup holders for your baby.

As for weight and height limitations, the car seat can accommodate a toddler weighing 5-30 pounds with a maximum height of 30 inches. The stroller can handle up to 50 pounds of weight.[one_half_first]

Baby Trend Reviews on EZ Ride 5

Many parents fell in love with it as it was easy to put together. One father even cited that it saved his daughter’s life in a car accident. The reclining process is easy and the various compartments for storage were also a favourite for parents. Some parents, however, complained that their travel system came with scratches.

2. Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System

This is one of Amazon’s favourite travel systems. It is equipped with a removable toddler seat and can easily be transformed into an infant car seat frame with the KeyFit 30 adapter.

The best thing is that you don’t have to remove the toddler seat each time you want to use the stroller with the car seat. Many moms love that the toddler seat allows for multiple reclining positions and can accommodate passengers weighing up to 50 pounds.

You can choose the preferred reclining position using a push button. Both leg rest and seat have soft padding for added comfort. The fabric used is nice and soft. It also features a 5 point harness system for a safe ride.

Chicco Bravo Trio travel system has an adjustable and removable canopy. While it isn’t fitted with UVS or SPF protection, the canopy has a flip out visor that offers nice coverage and protection from the sun.

The mesh peek a boo window in the canopy allows you to spy on your child while taking a stroll. It is also a convenient feature since the seat isn’t reversible.

The adjustable handlebars are a welcome addition for parents of varying heights. It offers three different positions so every parent will be satisfied. The single action, linked rear brakes are easy to set and release.

It uses two 9” rear wheels and two 7” front wheels, all of which are made from plastic and filled with foam. They are fitted with four wheel suspension for shock absorption.[one_half_first]

• Self-standing compact folded design
• Auto-positioning wheels

Pros

✓ One hand folding design
✓ Four wheel suspension minimizes vibration
✓ Fitted with KeyFit 30 infant car seat frame
✓ Incredibly comfortable

From the reclining seat and height adjustable handlebars to the ease of setting up and durable construction, parents had a lot of positive things to say about this travel system. Good quality service was also a huge plus. Concerns expressed by parents include lack of a reversible seat.

3. Baby Trend Expedition LX Travel System

Baby Trend has been manufacturing juvenile products for almost thirty years. Their product range includes infant swings and bouncers, Diaper Champ diaper pail, high chairs, infant car seats, strollers and more.

Their Expedition LX is an affordable travel system loved by parents for its ease of maneuverability and compact design.

This model offers everything you would want in a baby travel system ranging from a swivel to spacious storage basket and large canopy. It features the Expedition LX Jogging Stroller, making this a perfect solution for parents who love walking and strolling with their babies. The front locking wheel allows for jogging while the swivel wheel makes maneuverability easy.

What have other parents said about this travel system?

Many parents cited that this travel system was everything they would have hoped for. And while some felt that more money could get them a better travel system, others agreed that it offered great value for money with adjustable height, tires that roll smoothly and it is great to manoeuvre.

4. Graco Aire 3 Click Connect Travel System

Graco’s Aire 3 Click Connect travel system features a three wheel design with a locking front wheel swivel wheel. The carrying strap and 1 hand fold make for easy transportation while the self-stands and auto-locks provide added safety.

Like other models, this one comes with a multi-positional stroller that reclines to create an infant carriage.

For storage, the Aire 3 Click Connect offers a large storage bin that will hold the diaper bag. The bin has a weight limit of 10 pounds. It’s important to note that the number of items you can put in this bin is limited by the bar under the seat as it restricts opening.

You get a soft bottle holster that can hold thin sippy cups and a water bottle. The parent console is fitted with two cup holders that aren’t removable.

The large canopy, while not SPF certified, has a peek a boo window that allows for ventilation. It also makes it easy for you to keep an eye on your little one. The seat is constructed using a tightly woven canvas that’s surrounded by a tougher and more durable canvas.

The downside is that it is not an all terrain stroller, so it would be good to keep this in mind if you really liked this stroller. We loved the single action brakes as they are easy to set and release.

Consistent with other strollers, it features a 5 point safety harness, which makes it easy to put on and take off of the baby. It is a little disappointing that the handlebar isn’t adjustable.[one_half_first]

• Multi-position, flat reclining seat

This travel system also comes with a Vive stroller with four wheel suspension. The thick EVA wheels are a welcome feature that provide sufficient stability and traction. This stroller is loved by most Amazon moms at 4.1 stars and 500+ reviews. Most moms say it is lightweight, easy to drive and fold. Mothers are happy with the combination of value and quality.

Some parents have said that the stroller is difficult to assemble for the first time and that the fold system does not work properly.

For other parents the car seat quality was not as expected, saying that the buckle strap in the middle was too short and that the overall quality and sturdiness of the car seat was not as expected.

Overall, reviews for this stroller are great with over 4-star rating at a great quality for the price.

Choosing the best baby travel system

Before making a purchase, it’s important to consider how you will use the travel system. The most important thing is to ensure that your stroller and car seat combo works for you and your baby.

The car seat

The first thing to consider when choosing a travel system is the car seat. Given that it will keep your baby safe in a moving car, narrow down your choices to models that fit tightly. They should also be easy to install and use.

The ideal car seat should have a 5 point harness system. If possible, get one that can be installed without the travel base, in case you need to change vehicles quickly.

The stroller

Strollers for baby travel systems come in all sizes and shapes including full-size feature-packed strollers, lightweight strollers as well as jogging strollers.

Ensure that you check how well a stroller will fit inside in your vehicle before deciding on a specific design. For instance, jogging strollers will work on any terrain but will prove difficult to tuck away for storage.

Consider purchasing different

If finding a travel system that best suits your needs is proving a challenge, you can create your own with separate stroller and car seats.

You will be able to use both as usual, but different brands of strollers and car seats may not snap together. An adapter makes pairing pieces from different manufacturers a walk in the park.

And the winner is…

We really liked the Baby Trend EZ Ride 5, and recommend it as one of the best baby travel systems on Amazon. Due to the integrated Flex Loc Technology, 5 point harness system on the stroller, multiple reclining positions and light weight vs. other options, we believe it is a deserving winner.

The fact that the handle height is adjustable makes this model quite comfortable for the parents. This combo is unique in its own right and the Latch is a favourite feature for parents who want to eliminate the stress of installing the travel system with every trip.

We are Amazon Affiliates. That means that if you decide to purchase on Amazon through one of our links we will receive a commission (at no extra cost to you).

How to Choose the Best All Terrain Travel System Stroller

As a new parent, there are many purchases that you will make to ensure that your life is easier and your baby is happy. One of the smartest purchases that you can make for your new bundle of joy is the best travel system stroller. You may not be familiar with them… Well, they can be a lifesaver!

What are some things to consider before buying? How will you know what to look for in a travel system stroller? What are some things you might want to avoid in your set? There are five easy steps which we will go over, that will help you choose just the right set for you.

1. Decide if you want to purchase a combo or separate pieces
2. Choose your car seat first
3. Choose your stroller second
4. Decide your budget
5. Choose what features that are important to you

What is a Travel System Stroller?

A travel system stroller is a stroller and car seat combo, with the car seat part of the combo being especially designed for newborns and babies of up to approx. 6 months old (this may vary from one manufacturer to the other).

The coordinating set is meant to be used together and you know that they will work smoothly. The car seat is easily moved between car and stroller while your baby slumbers on peacefully.

Newborn babies can sleep for as much as 16 hours a day (not all at once). The travel system stroller prevents having to wake your baby to move it from one place to another as you are out and about and it makes the transition simple for you, too.

When your little one falls asleep, the last thing that you want to do is wake them.

The complete set comes with a base that you place in your car. The car seat snaps out of the base with easy-to-use clips and snaps right into the matching stroller.

Why would you buy a Travel System Stroller?

Not waking your baby when you move them from place to place, is a pretty good reason already. Another reason to consider a travel system stroller is that a lot of strollers don’t provide the proper head and neck support that your tiny infant needs.

The infant car seat or capsule is designed to support your baby from newborn days until approximately 6 months old.

As your baby gets older, it will strengthen his neck, back and tummy mussels. He will also want to “see the world” and you can use the stroller alone, without the car seat attachment.

Another Option

With the ease of shopping and the ease of use, travel system strollers are becoming more and more popular.

One other option that you might consider is a universal stroller frame. This is just a frame that you fasten your car seat on so you can take it along where you go. Although it is an inexpensive option, you will not be able to use it after your baby outgrows their infant car seat in a few months.

5 Steps to Choose the Best Travel System Stroller

1. Decide if you want to purchase a combo or separate pieces

There are three pieces to the combo: the car seat, the stroller, and the base that the car seat snaps into that stays in your car.

The pros to purchasing a stroller and car seat combo are that the pieces are all meant to work together already. You don’t have to do any shopping for each piece.

If you find a practical stroller or adorable car seat and you want to purchase them separately, be mindful that you will need to look for an adaptor. Always make sure the stroller and car seat you like are compatible or that an adaptor exists for them to work together.

2. Choose your car seat first

The car seat is of utmost importance. Consider a few things before making your decision:

  • Does it have the five-point safety harness?
  • What is the weight of the car seat? Is it lightweight?
  • Is it easy to carry? There are many ergonomic car seat carrying handles. The ones that allow for a natural grip are preferred.
  • Does it have a canopy? Canopies are one of the most used features of a car seat. They are not only nice for keeping bright sunlight out of your baby’s face but they are an important safety feature. Babies can sunburn and windburn quickly and the canopy keeps them protected.
  • Is it going to be comfortable for my baby?
  • Is it noisy when getting in and out of the base? Having a car seat/base combo that clicks noisily may not be ideal. Every time you transition from car to stroller or vice versa, the loud CLICK may disturbs your infant’s sleep.
  • Can it be installed without the base to make moving between vehicles easier? Most car seats can be used without the base as they have something called the LATCH system. This makes them safe to use without the base. Make sure your car has this system, too.

Installing a car seat with the seat belt alone can be safe if done correctly. The problem is that it can be complicated. The LATCH system is an alternative to securing the car seat with a seat belt.

Look for two metal anchor points built into your vehicle near the seat belt clips. These are the anchors that the car seat clips will hook to.

When shopping for your infant car seat, look for ones that have metal clips attached or that are suitable for this system. Those metal clips will secure to the car making installation easy. A similar system is used in European vehicles known as ISOFIX. It has an additional third clip that anchors overhead or a support leg.

3. Choose your Stroller Second

There are a variety of strollers from lightweight to full-size with lots of bonus features, to jogging strollers. The main things to consider when choosing your stroller are:

  • Does it fold up easily? A one-hand fold-up is practical when you have your hands busy with your baby.
  • Does it fit in my car? Some seats are wider and won’t fit well in tight areas like third seats of an SUV.
  • Is it heavy or bulky? Heavy seats can make for long days when you are carrying your baby around a lot but they can also be well-built and sturdy.
  • Does it steer well? The best travel system strollers can turn on a dime; to fit easily between the racks of clothing at your favourite mall.
  • Consider the size and weight of the stroller. This is totally up to you and your preferences. It is always best to trial the strollers before you make a decision. If your stroller is heavy or bulky it can make all of your travel time harder. In that case, you may prefer models that boast “lightweight” and “compact”.
  • If durability is more important to you than weight, then you will want to look for something that seems well-made and will stand the test of time. In this case a sturdy stroller may be preferable.
  • Check if the stroller you like locks into place after you fold it away. This keeps the stroller from popping back into open position while you struggle to get them into the car.
  • Make sure that it is easy to use. With all that you have to do, the last thing you want to be thinking about is ‘How did this thing work?’ while you jiggle the handle, resulting in waking your baby.
  • How does it manoeuvre? Depending on your use, you might want to think about steering. If you are indoors, it is important to be able to maneuvre easily in tight places. If you are outdoors in wide open spaces, this won’t be as much of a concern.
  • Wheel size is another consideration. Some strollers have small wheels, ideal for city life and others feature larger, or even tyre like wheels that some people would struggle to fit into a small elevator or car. However, bigger wheels are better for all terrain use.
  • As your baby gets older and you move on to using the stroller without the car seat, one of the handiest features to look for is a full reclining option. This is great when your toddler falls asleep. They can recline and get their nap in while you run errands or maybe even sneak in some Mom shopping.

4. Decide on your budget

While the average cost of a top rated travel system stroller is $400, the options range from $100-$800 or more. After you’ve considered some of your favourites, budget will always narrow it down for you.

The lightweight strollers are more affordable with the full-featured ones having the heftiest price tag. Deciding how much use this stroller will get can help you choose a budget.

If you like an infant travel system that is over your set budget, do not despair. Consider that if you are planning to have more than one baby, you can use the same travel system stroller. In that case the extra investment may be worth a good quality product that will last for long time.

There are always priorities in everyone’s baby gear lists, so if a travel system is one for you, another option is to compromise on another baby items which rank lower in your priority list. You may even be able to borrow some other items from a friend or buy second hand (when it is safe to do so).

As a third alternative, which may not work for everyone, but it is still an option: when close friends and relatives ask you what you need or want for your new baby, you can politely ask them to contribute in any way they can to fund part of your travel system stroller. This could be your baby shower present!

5. Choose the features that are important to you

From cup holders to canopies with UV protection, the features to consider are mind boggling. Think about what features might be important to you:

  • Does it have a peek-a-boo window? This allows you to check in on your baby without stopping to go around to their side.
  • Do you spend time outdoors or inside more? You might want all-terrain tires or a compact design.
  • Do you want an adjustable-height handle? How tall is your partner? Will you need one of these?
  • Maybe you want a snack tray for your toddler or a cell phone tray for yourself.
  • How much storage will you need? Do you travel light or are you a mom that plans for anything? Look at the amount of storage available.
  • Design and colour scheme: Buy something you like and you are happy with. You can choose from a variety of colours and you can pick from sleek, or pretty, flashy or something that blends in.

Before we finish there are some safety considerations that we would like to bring to your attention.

Remember Always that Safety comes First

Infants should not spend long periods of time in a car seat.  This is based on a study from the University of Southhampton in UK funded by the Lullaby Trust, that assessed the physiological response of infants to car seats.

This study is supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), which advises that infant car seats should not be used as a sleep environment on a frequent basis. Although more research is required in this field to provide clear guidelines to parents as to how long their child can spend in a car seats. Francine Bates, Chief Executive from the Lullaby Trust recommends families travelling with young children to take regular breaks and never leave their babies in car seats for long periods of time.

It is recommended that children travel in a rear facing car seats until they are 2 years of age or they reach the maximum weight and height for the manufacturer’s recommendations.

It is not recommended to buy used or second hand car seats because you do not know the history of the seat. Car seats that have been involved in car accidents are no longer safe to use as the integrity of the seat may have been compromised.

To end… ENJOY YOUR TIME TOGETHER

With these few steps, choosing the best option for you and your baby can be quite simple.

  • Decide if you want to purchase a combo or separate pieces
  • Choose your car seat first
  • Choose your stroller second
  • Decide your budget
  • Choose what features that are important to you
  • Decide if you need something lighter or sturdier
  • Remember, safety first

How to Choose the Best Newborn to Toddler Bath Tub

How to pick the best baby bath tub?

There are many baby bath tub types, shapes and designs out there, but how to pick the one that is best for you?

The criteria below will serve as a guide to assess which product best meet your needs. There may be many other things to consider, but hopefully we’ve captured most important points.

Baby Bath Tub Size

The age and size of your baby will serve you as a guide on baby bath tub sizes and features.

The newborn to toddler bath tubs are the most versatile. Besides, you can give those models longer use.

Check out the best baby bath tubs for Newborn to Toddler, here.

Some models come with a baby bath sling or mesh sling that is removable.

The advantage of buying a baby bath tub with sling is that you can provide a much softer surface for your baby than the hard plastic material.

This is ideal for the first few weeks of life. After that time, simple remove the infant tub sling and bath your baby in the baby bath tub.

If you pick a baby tub with sling, make sure you adjust it so that baby is partially submerged in the water and place a warm towel over his chest. Otherwise, he may be cold.

Newborn bath tubs are generally small and also include a reclining area for infants that don’t sit up right by themselves. These features may be uncomfortable for older children, who can sit up right by themselves and splash  water.

How long are you planning to use the baby bath tub?

This point goes hand in hand with the point above. Try to think long term before you make your choice, as babies grow really fast.

Some infant bath tubs are versatile and offer features for newborn, infant and toddler (like the ones reviewed in the this article).

There are also some baby bath tub models which may make bathing your baby more complicated at the start but once baby can sit up right they work best.

In this regard, if you are planning to use the bath tub for a long time, try to pick one with all the features you need.

Photo by Lars Plougmann (CC BY 2.0)

Once baby outgrows that feature, just put it away and keep going with the same baby bath tub.

From about 2 years old toddlers may transition to the big bath.

The transition may happen earlier depending on your child and your own circumstances.

You may want to assess some bath accessories, such as baby bath seats and transition to a big bath earlier on.

Some parents are keener to shower their babies, which is also a great easy option.

Baby Bath Tub For Small Spaces

The size of the baby bath tub can be a limiting factor for parents. Not only you need to use the tub but also dry it and store it regularly, and you need to have some room to do that.

The size of your home, kitchen or bathroom may be a factor to consider at the time of choosing the style of bathtub for your child.

We have provided all recommended bath tub sizes, for your convenience in our comparative table at the start of the article.

Where are you going to bath your baby?

There are as many options available as space in the house!

Newborn Bath Tub For Sink

Over the kitchen sink is a very popular bath tub option, as you can easily fill it up and drain it without having to lift it (that is, if your baby tub has a drain hole).

Make sure you properly measure your sink and that the baby bath tub you like fits in it, to avoid being disappointed.

Baby Bath Seat for sink

Using an infant sink bath insert is another alternative to bath your baby in the kitchen sink. Where the sink acts as the actual baby bath.

The baby tub for kitchen sink consist of a seat or insert made of a very soft fabric that will create a cushion to cradle your baby while having a bath.

Your baby’s skin will not be in contact with the kitchen sink, which is better for hygienic purposes.

The flower baby bath tub can also act as a portable baby tub, ideal for parents on the go.

However, baby will stop using this flower once he can sit upright, at approximately 6 months of age.

Bathing Baby in Bath Tub

Placing your baby bath tub inside the big bath is another great option, as it makes filling up the tub and draining it very easy.

Our only recommendation with this is, be mindful of your back. If you are going to bath your little baby in an uncomfortable position, that may end up injuring your back in the long run.

If you go with this option, try to go on your knees and keep your back as straight as possible, never bent. There are some great kneeling pads online to help you be in a more comfortable posture while bathing baby.

Alternatively, get a little side stool to sit comfortably while you bath your child. You will stop holding your child in the water from 6, 7 or 8 months, once they sit up right with confidence.

Standing Baby Bath Tub

A baby bath and stand set is baby bath tub with an integrated stand. This is a clever idea for parents who have space in their homes.

The main advantage of a baby bath tub with stand is that it enables you to bath your baby standing up, protecting your lower back.

Not only will it allow you to bath your child in a comfortable position, but it will give you the freedom to choose where to bath your baby.

There are also bath tub stands that that can be folded, so if you have a place to store it, this can be a great alternative.

If the stand can fit in your shower area, you will also be able to fill the tub with water and drain it without doing any heavy lifting. If the water tap does not reach the bath tub, you can also bet a hose to help you fill it up.

Remember to place the stand on a flat surface, never place it inside a bath tub or other unsteady surfaces.

As an extra piece of advice, and this is because I use one of these… make sure you have everything you need at hand as you don’t want to leave baby unattended for a split second as there may be a risk of them falling from the tub if super active.

On the kitchen table

I had to use the kitchen table when I was travelling with my newborn and didn’t have room anywhere else to place the baby tub.

The drawback is that you will need to either fill the bath tub with water somewhere else and take it to the table or, fill it up gradually with a jug or bucket.

When you finish bathing your baby, you will need either: drain it in one go if you lift and transport the tub to the sink or toilet or, grab a big jug/ bucket and make a few trips to the kitchen to empty the tub gradually.

The second option (using a jug/ bucket) is always more time consuming, but your back will be grateful.

Good thing about this second option is that you can prevent spilling a large amount of water all over the floor in an failed attempt to drain the tub in one go.

How much water to use?

Depending on the size of the bath tub and the size of your child you may need more or less water to fill it up.

As your child grows you will need less water to fill it up as his body will take more space in the tub. Parents that have a small bath tub and a big child don’t need much water to fill the tub to a nice comfy level.

For this reason it is important to try to plan long term where possible and consider the length of time you will be using this tub for.

If you prefer to use as little water as possible, a small baby bath tub for a big child is a good option. If baby uses the same bath tub all the time, they will not notice if the size is too small.

Baby Bath Tub with Drain Plug

If you are looking for the cheapest baby bath tub on the market, it is almost a guarantee that it will not feature a draining hole.

If you are on a budget, they may be a good alternative. When your baby is little, you don’t need too much water to fill it up. But as he grows, you will use more water and that means that there are more changes of making a mess trying to empty it up.

Always remember to remove all water from the bath tub to prevent mildew and mold from growing over time.

Drying your Baby Bath Tub Set

This is very much related to the point above.

Drying your tub is super-important to limit the amount of mildew and mold that can grow and accumulate over time.

Some of the top baby bath tubs reviewed in this article come with suction cups and holders to hang the bath tub and aid drying it.

Cleaning your Baby Bath Tub

From time to time you will need to clean your baby’s bath tub.

No matter what brand you pick, it will get dirty,  unless you clean your new baby bath tub very regularly.

When you choose your buy baby bath tub online, consider all the extra parts that come with it: a seat, a holder, a mesh sling for baby bath tub, and any other fixed or removable features.

The more parts, the more you will have to clean, especially if you use all of the features on a regular basis.

If you don’t like the idea of cleaning too many baby bath tub parts, I would recommend you pick the simplest design available.

Baby Bath Time Safety

Never leave baby unattended

Before putting your baby in the water make sure you have everything you need for bath time: soap, shampoo, gels, oils (or whatever you use) plus a towel.

It is dangerous to leave children unattended whilst in the water as there may be a risk of them slipping, falling or drowning

Anti-slip surface

If your selected bath tub does not come with an integrated anti-slip surface, consider getting a No-slip bath mat or some anti-slip stickers to help prevent baby from sliding into the water.

Water temperature

Always check the water temperature before placing baby inside the bath tub.

Make sure that the water temperature is at a safe level
(around 37ºC or 98ºF). Some baby bath tubs come with an integrated thermometer that will indicate the optimal water temperature for baby. For example the inflatable ducky, featured above.

If your bath tub does not come with an integrated thermometer, you may want to consider getting one. They come in different forms and shapes and forms.

If you don’t have a baby thermometer and don’t intend to get one, you can always check the water temperature with your elbow to assess if it is safe for baby.

Never pick up the bath tub with your child inside

This can be very dangerous, no matter how strong Mom or Dad are. Your child should go in the water once you have everything else ready and that you have checked the water temperature (optimal for baby is 37ºC or 98ºF).

Make sure the bath tub is firmly placed over a flat surface, stand or sink

Stability is very important. As your child grows he/ she will be more active in the water and having a stable bath tub will prevent accidents from happening.

Best Baby Carrier Reviews

Infantino Flip Advanced 4-in-1 Convertible Carrier

This version of the Infantino baby carrier collection is suitable for children from 8 to 32 pounds (or 5.4 to 20.4 kg), which means this carrier can grow with your child.

It comes with a narrow seat and head support with padding for newborns, which you can easily switch to the wide seat position for toddlers, making it super versatile.

It offers 4 different ways to carry your baby: newborn facing you in narrow seat, baby facing you in wide seat, back carry and baby facing out.

As a value add, a Wonder Cover Bib is included to protect your clothing and carrier. This last feature will come useful if your baby has reflux. Plus, you can wash this baby carrier safely in the washing machine.

This baby carrier has an adjustable seat and leg opening so your baby will travel comfortably. Some baby carriers have a narrow space for legs, better to avoid.

The waist belt and straps can also be easily adjusted to fit mom or dad, so everyone is comfortable.

Overall, this is a great quality carrier that can easily compete with more expensive brands at approx. $25-$27.

Key Features

  • wonder cover bib included
  • 4 ways to carry baby
  • Multiple adjustable options

Pros

✓Most Comfortable baby carrier
✓Wonder bib is double sided
✓Easy to put on and lightweight

Cons

✕May not be comfortable to use for long periods of time
✕Better to use with light babies

Infantino ergo baby carrier reviews

With over 2,500 customer reviews and 4.5 stars out of 5, the infantino flip front2back carrier is a favorite among parents.

Parents love that it is easily portable and that the fabric is light and breathable.

Some other carrier models, with stiffer fabrics are more durable, but seem to be too harsh for newborns. But not the Infantino flip baby carrier, which is perceived as lighter.

The Infantino baby carrier is not recommended to use for long periods of time. This model has been compared to the Ergo baby, which is more comfortable in the back but considerably more expensive.

Furthermore, the Infantino flip carrier is great quality for the price. Parents seem to love the variety of ways of use of this baby carrier, offering 4 different positions.

Probably a point of improvement for the Infantion 4 in 1 carrier would be the light padding in the shoulder straps, which is not ideal for parents of older kids.

Parents should also watch that their infants are sitting comfortably in the Infantino flip advanced and that the carrier is not too tight on baby’s legs as it could prevent proper blood circulation.

Overall, this Infantino baby holder seems to offer more pros than cons and it is a value for money option worth considering.

BabyBjörn Baby Carrier Original

The BabyBjörn has the advantage of being a very strong brand for a baby carrier at an affordable price.

It offers 2 positions for maximum closeness with your baby: baby facing-in and baby facing-out.

The Baby Bjorn newborn carrier is made of soft cotton material and it is perfect for infants as it is completely safe. The fabric in this carrier is Oeko-Tex Standard 100, class 1 approved, which is an international safety standard for textiles. This will give you peace of mind when your baby starts chewing the carrier.

As any other BabyBjörn product, this carrier has been developed with paediatricians to ensure baby is held in a physiologically safe position, providing maximum head, neck, spine and hip support.

What is great about this model is that it is easy to use and put on unassisted. In fact, the Original model is considered one of the best Baby Bjorn carriers.

The Baby Bjorn carrier design allows you to put baby to sleep. When your baby falls asleep in the baby carrier, just unfasten the side buckles to safely put baby down to bed.

In addition, as it is light weight it is easy to carry around because it is compact and does not take much space.

The Baby Bjorn carrier Original is a personal favorite, which I use to take with me everywhere when my daughter was little.

Plus, the seat position can be adjusted as your baby grows.

This model is also machine washable and it is ideal for babies from newborn (8 lbs/3.5 kg and 21 ins/53 cm) up to 25 lbs/ 11 kgs.

Key Features

  • 2 positions to carry baby
  • Lightweight baby carrier
  • Made of 100% safe materials for baby

Pros

✓Easy to use baby carrier
✓Easy to put baby to bed from the carrier
✓Baby legs and arms can move freely

Cons

✕Shoulder straps are not padded
✕It does not offer a back carry option
✕Lacks lower back support

BabyBjorn Baby Carrier Original Reviews

Baby Bjorn is an iconic brand with strong appeal among parents thanks to its good quality and durability. It is not surprising that the Baby Bjorn baby carrier has been awarded 4.4 stars out 5, by over 1,600+ parents on Amazon.com.

Parents love that it is easy to wear and snap into place. Plus, you can put it on and off unassisted. That is why it is considered one of the easiest to use baby carriers on the market.

One of its great features is that, if your baby falls asleep you can unhook the carrier section that supports your baby and place them in the cot, completely undisturbed.

It is a breeze to use. All you need to do is ensure the baby bjorn sling logo is at the center of your back and adjust the straps (once baby is on you) to find a comfortable position.

In addition, as the straps are easy to adjust it can be shared between mom and dad and re-adjusted to fit each parent body shape within seconds.

Many parents have said they feel comfortable wearing this carrier and they also feel their baby is held comfortably. This carrier is great for walks or to use around the house.

However, with heavier babies the straps apply pressure into shoulders and because the carrier does not provide lower back support, it is not ideal to carry older children or to use during long periods of time.

Another important point is that it only offers 2 carry positions, which do not include the baby backpack or baby back carrier.

Finally, this model is a winner for parents looking for a stylish, versatile and easy to use baby carrying alternative without compromising on quality.

Boba Baby Wrap

This Amazon best seller is not exactly a baby carrier, but it is a fantastic option if you are open to trying a baby wrap

The Boba Wrap Infant carrier is made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex. Boba wrap is an ideal carrier to use from birth until baby is around 18 months old from 7 to 35 pounds (or 3 to 15.8 kg).

Many moms feel apprehensive about the Boba sling because they don’t know how to tie it properly. If you like this option, give it a try! It may look intimidating at the start. To help you, we’ve found a video which shows how easy it can be to use.

Are you wondering how to wrap a baby sling? Check out the tutorial by How To’s and Reviews:

[video_page_section type="youtube" position="default" color="#57a7b3" btn="light" heading="Boba Baby Wrap" subheading="Practical Instructions on how to use it" cta="" video_width="1080" hide_related="true" hide_logo="true" hide_controls="false" hide_title="false" hide_fullscreen="false"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lih_rTpPe1Y[/video_page_section]

Boba baby carrier wrap is buckle and strap free, and it can be comfortably wore by any body shape, making it the most versatile baby wearing accessory in the market.

Finally, the boba baby wrap is one size that fits all, machine washable and breathable. As an added plus, it is suitable for holding your baby while breastfeeding.

  • Custom fit every time
  • Holds toddlers of up to 35 lbs (15 kg)
  • Made of cotton/ spandex blend for maximum support

Pros

✓It provides good back support
✓Comfortable to wear for long periods of time
✓Can be used to breastfeed your baby

Cons

✕You may need some practice to wrap it properly
✕Large amount of fabric to handle, which can be uncomfortable

Boba Wrap Reviews

Boba Wrap newborn is a statement for baby wearing and promotes closeness and bonding with your newborn.

This product has been awarded 4.2 stars out of 5 by over 2,500 Amazon parents, which is a great achievement.

The Boba baby carrier is easy to use after watching the boba wrap video tutorial and practicing a few times. Despite this, for some parents it may feel like baby is dropping down, no matter how tight they do the wrap.

Something to watch out for is that baby may get too warm in the wrap, due to the large amount of fabric. We would advice you always watch your baby doesn’t get too warm if he is wrapped in the boba wrap during a hot summer day to avoid overheating.

Parents love that it is soft, light weight and easy to wash. However, it is not something you can set up and put on with speed, due to the large amount of fabric.

Overall, parents are mostly happy with the boba wrap as it is a good help to calm baby down and fits every body shape.

Infantino Swift Classic Carrier

This model of the Infantino baby carrier offers a simple design that makes it easy to use for parents on the go.

Infantino Swift classic offers 2 baby wearing options: in and out facing, same as the BabyBjörn baby carrier.

The difference with the BabyBjörn model is that the shoulder straps are padded.

As your child gets older and heavier, you will be grateful for this feature. You can use it for babies from 8 to 25 pounds (or 3.6 to 11.3kg).

This Infantino baby sling includes a detachable Wonder Cover bib to protect your carrier and clothing from any “accidents”. The bib can be attached to your clothes or to the carrier (and it is double sided).

It has a one-touch adjustment back strap (also padded) to help you evenly distribute the weight of your child and protect your back.

Key Features

  • Double sided wonder bib
  • In-out facing options
  • padded shoulder and back straps

Pros

✓Great value for money
✓Lightweight and easy to put on
✓Great baby carrier for the price

Cons

✕Better suited for younger babies
✕No lower back support
✕For some parents, Baby sits extremely tight in this carrier

Infantino baby carrier reviews

The Infantino Swift classic carrier has been reviewed by over 1600+ Amazon parents and given a total of 4.3 stars out of 5.

Infantino Swift has been praised for its quality of materials, durability and being easy to clean.

A point worth mentioning is that it may be difficult to set up the Swift carrier to fit your body shape for the first time unassisted, as there is a section that needs to sit in the middle of the back to use the carrier correctly.

This Infantino Swift carrier is ideal to use for short periods of time and for parents on the go who don’t want to spend much on a baby carrier. It is a good value for money option, offering two different positions: baby facing in our out.

Finally, the Infantino Swift Baby Carrier is probably not recommended for using during long periods of time as it lacks proper back support. Make sure that if you do use if for long time you keep moving or walking as this will help your lower back.

The Swift carrier price is affordable, so we recommend it to parents looking for a baby carrier to use occasionally and don’t wish to spend a lot on this baby item.

Infantino Sash Wrap and Tie Baby Carrier

This original design by Infantino is based on the traditional Mei Tai Chinese way of baby wearing. It consists of a buckle-free wrap that allows you to shape the wrap to your body, providing a more natural fit.

Key Features

  • Custom fit
  • 3 ways to carry baby
  • detachable hood included

Pros

✓Easy to put on baby carrier
✓Light and cool fabric
✓Ergonomic fit

Cons

✕Straps are long
✕May feel unstable
✕Poor neck support for younger babies

Infantino carrier reviews

There are many Infantino mei tai reviews on Amazon.com, featuring 4.2 stars out of 5 and reviewed by 1,500+ Amazon parents.

It has been praised for its support and being ideal for plus size users.

The straps can be easily adjusted so baby can sit lower or higher according to your needs. That means you can protect your lower back and release pressure from your upper back by adjusting where baby sits.

The support this carrier provides is important because it makes it more comfortable to wear for longer periods of time vs. other carriers that don’t provide that support.

For some parents, the sashes may seem excessively long. However, for others that is the key to freely adjust the baby carrier to suit their body shape.

It is not the quickest to set up or put on, but once you get a bit of practice it can provide great comfort and back support.

Infantino Flip Front 2 Back Carrier

The Infantino flip front2back carrier offers 3 carrying possibilities: baby facing-out, baby facing-in and backpack. The later position being ideal for toddlers.

This baby carrier caters for children from 8 to 32 pounds (or 3.6 to 14.5kg).

Made of a breathable mesh fabric, the Infantino Flip baby carrier allows airflow to keep your baby cool. It features a pocket in the front part of the carrier, which you can use to place your keys, wallet or some other small object.

Nonetheless, there is not a single carrier that will fit everyone. Babybjorn is a great option for small babies, it is super easy to use but as baby grows it can apply too much pressure on your shoulders.

The Boba Baby Wrap is a great option to use at home, also best suited for small babies. If you have an older child, you may want to try out one of the options that offer back support, such as the Infantino Flip Front 2 Back.
